James V. Faulkner Jr is president and owner of Graphic Horizons, Inc.  Graphic Horizons was started as a graphic design company but has morphed into an engineering consulting company.   The main emphasis of the company is automated testing of embedded micro products.  Most of the current work is in the electric metering industry although graphic and photomicroscopy jobs are accepted.

Before moving into consulting full time in 2004, Mr. Faulkner spent 22 years with Westinghouse and ABB designing metering, load control, and communications products.  Earlier in his career he worked for Data General as a systems programmer and at NC State University for Dr. Don Martin as the manager of USACC.

Mr. Faulkner was born in Henderson, NC but grew up in Roanoke Rapids.  He came to NC State University with the intentions of studying Aerospace Engineering but switched to Electrical Engineering.  After serving in the US Army, he returned to NC State University to finish a BS in Psychology (1972), MS in Experimental Psychology (visual perception 1978), and a BS in Computer Science (1978).
