Ms. Markham is the Vice President of Information Systems (I/S) Planning & Field Services for Kindred Healthcare, the nation�s largest full-service long-term care provider. She has responsibility for the I/S Strategy and Enterprise Architecture Plan, I/S Management and Systems Training, and Implementation Services for this $3.8B healthcare company, comprised of 250 nursing homes, 70 long term acute care hospitals and 35 institutional pharmacies across the United States. Kindred Healthcare�s I/S group has been recognized on the InformationWeek 500 for the past 5 years as one of the top Information Systems groups in America, and in 2003 they were ranked #52!

Ms. Markham has served as the Vice Chair on the Board of Directors for Greater Louisville Inc.�s Technology Network (TeN), an organization of technology professionals working to expand the region's technology capabilities and resources. Kathy is currently the Vice Chair for Greater Louisville Inc.�s CIO Roundtable and has been active in the local Women in Technology organization. Ms. Markham also volunteers as a �long distance� mentor for North Carolina State University�s Women in Computer Science group, encouraging young women to choose Computer Science as a career!

Before joining Kindred in January 1998, Ms. Markham held a similar position with Columbia/HCA (now HCA), the nation�s largest healthcare company, located in Nashville, TN. Prior to Columbia/HCA, Ms. Markham was a Senior Manager with KPMG (now Bearing Point) where she helped establish a successful Information Technology Consulting practice, primarily focused on healthcare clients. Ms. Markham began her career with IBM, where she started as an intern while attending NC State. Upon graduating, she advanced from programmer/analyst to project manager to manager of an Application Development Consulting Practice within the IBM Consulting Group when she left in 1994.

Ms. Markham earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from North Carolina State University in 1980. She has attended professional training courses covering Project Management, Business Process Reengineering, Enterprise Architecture and CIO Bootcamp.
